This reproduction print was originally part of the ink and watercolor set of 1899 Arkansas State Capitol plans, drawn by George Mann and signed by Governor Dan Jones and O.C. Ludwig. This set of plans was on display at the Old State House for the public and the legislators to examine while the General Assembly and the State Capitol Commission considered the appropriation legislation that would authorize the construction of a new Capitol building. The drawings served as a "visual aid" to help speed the passage of the appropriation. The State Capitol was finally completed 16 years after passage of the bill with several revisions made through the construction years to these elaborate original drawings.
